Setup
Workstation Instructions
for version 1.0.012 and up
This should be installed by your network administrator. If you have the PartBase PRO CD version 1.0.011 or less, see Workstation Installation.or you can download the Workstation Setup program and continue with this page.
Running the "Workstation Setup" will install the necessary files to the local workstation and create shortcut icons based on the current drive mappings to the server.
It is recommended that you map a drive letter to the shared folder on the server. It is best to use a consistent drive letter on all the workstations.
You may also use the UNC path
("\\server_name\shared_folder\PBasePRO") to the server shared folder.
But it is recommended to use a mapped drive letter so users can
locate the "PbasePRO" folder easier. Whichever method you use, make
sure it is consistent with all the workstations accessing PartBase.
| 1. Browse to the PartBase folder - From the workstation, use "Explorer" or "My Computer" and locate the PartBase folder (PBasePRO) on the server | |
| 2. Start
the setup - Double-click on the "SetupWS" icon - |

3.
Install Workstation - A screen will
appear stating this will install on this workstation and will create
shortcut icons to the server.
Click on "Install Workstation" to begin setup. In a few moments the "PartBase PRO Workstation Setup" screen will appear. |

4.
Welcome - This is the first screen of the
install process. It is recommended that you exit all Windows programs before
continuing the setup process. Click Next to continue. |

5.
Software License Agreement - Please read
the license agreement for the PartBase PRO software. Click Yes to accept
agreement and continue with the setup. |

7.
Setup Complete - You will then see
this screen after a successful install.
Click "Finish" to complete setup and close the setup window. |

8.
Start Menu Icons - The
"C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs\PartBase PRO" window will open.
This will display the icons created that is linked to PartBase on the
server
Also a PartBase PRO icon will be created on the desktop.

| 9. Registering
PartBase PRO - Only the FIRST workstation is necessary to be
registered. Once the first one is registered, the next workstations
will not see the registration screen.
Launch PartBase by clicking on the PartBase PRO icon on the desktop, or using the Start/Programs/PartBase PRO menu. Depending on your PartBase version, you may have several days to register and may start using PartBase right away. You can go to the registration screen later by clicking on About from the PartBase Menu and clicking on Registration in the About window If you see "Demo Expired" or "Program Expired", click "Ok" to open "Registration" window Registration Screen |

Version 1.0.008 and higher You may call technical support to register PartBase. You will give them the Registration Entry # and then you will receive the proper Registration Code to enter. Press "Ok" to accept the code. You may also request code by Fax or Email (Clicking on the "email support" button opens up your mail program). Include your Registration Entry #, company name and contact. Click on "Exit, enter code later" to close this screen and the next time you open this screen, the registration entry # will still be the same. You will be emailed or faxed your registration codes. This is useful when registering during off hours or from overseas installations. |
Version 1.0.007 and before Be sure to be in contact with PartBase PRO tech support most likely phone. You will give them the Registration Entry # and then you will receive the Registration Code to enter. Do not close this screen until you get the Registration Code. Each time this screen is opened, it will generate a different Registration Entry # and you will have to give Tech support this #.
