Export Inventory

This option is available in the Inventory Module.

Export Inventory feature is used to create an inventory file of your in house stock so you will be able to send it to another company either by e-mail or on a floppy disk. This window is accessed by selecting "Utilities-Export Inventory" from the menu. Or from the PartBase Classic Menu, select Export Inventory. 

The screen is broken up into five different sections so you can customize the export file.

Export Fields - Select the fields you want to include in the export file

Sorted By - Choose the sort order of the file. Sorted by Part Number is the default

Export Criteria - In this section, you can enter certain field criteria so only those records satisfying the criteria will be exported. Using this, you can have a custom export file.  

Export Options - This is where you select the type of file you want to export to. You can export a DBF, ASCII, or XLS file. You also have the optoin to compress the export file and create a ZIP file.

File To Export To - You can choose where you would like to export you files to. Click  on the "File to export to",  the save in dialog box will come up. Then choose the file location and file you want to save to.

Click on "Export" to begin.

Note: Exporting to an XLS file is limited to 16383 records. However, you can still export to an ASCII text file which you are able to view in Excel.
