We cannot suggest this strong enough. You will be downloading files from the
Internet. Receiving files and email from known and unknown sources. Your computer
system and/or systems will be connecting to areas that are dangerous to your
business if not protected. We have numerous stories in our files about companies
that had devastating events happen. They all did not believe it could not happen
to them, and it did. Please do not become one of those stories. The price to
restore your company information far exceeds the cost of an Anti-Virus program.
Install a high quality anti-virus program and be sure to update the virus
definitions weekly on ALL your workstations and server.
This is an area that we also cannot stress enough.
Simple backup
programs can backup your PartBase PRO files to tape, CD, or to another hard
drive on a daily or weekly basis. Limiting your exposure to losing vital
information needed to keep your company in business. If you experience a crash
or database lose and have a backup, you can be up and running in a very short
time.
