Search Parts Window

The information below refers to all four search window types. There is also additional information for the searching Offers, Inventory, Requirements, or Sales History

You can open a search window, by the "Search" option from menu and selecting the file or by selecting "Search Parts" from the PartBase Classic Menu, then selecting the file to search from the Select window.

Searching Parts - At the "Search for" prompt enter the part number to search for. You may enter the full part number or the first part of the number. The prefix will be ignored. It will only search by number.
   
Search Part - This will search the current search window
   
Search All WindowsPart - This will search ALL search windows that are opened

Navigation - You may navigate around the search grid with the arrow keys or using the window's scroll bars. 

Toolbar - Each search window contains a toolbar at the top of the window. Only the icons that applies to the current search window will be shown. You may adjust the toolbar settings in Setup Preferences

Search - When clicking on the search icons below, it will open up the corresponding search window and search on the last number searched.

Search Offers (Alt+O) Search Inventory (Alt+I)
Search Requirements (Alt+R) Search Sales History (Alt+S)

Edit - To edit or view the currently highlighted record, click on the edit icons. It will open up the corresponding edit window.

View/Edit Offers (Alt+E)
View/Edit Requirements (Alt+E)
View/Edit Inventory (Alt+E)

View Company  - To edit or view the company of the currently highlighted record, click on the View Company icon , press (Alt-C) or double-click on the company code. It will then open up the Company Information pop up window.

This window is divided into 4 pages. The "Financial Info" page is only available if the user has access. If this window is left opened, it will automatically update with the currently highlighted record. If a check is placed next to "Always on top", this window will appear in front of any search window. To save space on the screen, you can put a check next to "Contact & Phone Only". This will reduce the Company Information  to the window shown below.

Print Search - By clicking the icon or (Alt-P), a Report Screen corresponding to the current database will appear

 

Columns - The search windows and columns can be resized. To resize a column, position the mouse cursor on the vertical line between the column headers until a double sided arrow appears. Then click and drag to the corresponding column width. You may also change the order of the columns. Click on the column header and drag it left or right to the desired position. To remember the column settings, go to Setup Preferences and put a check next to "Save Search windows and columns positions"

Other Commands
Alt-D
- Delete current record. This will propt you before it is deleted.
