Upgrading from PartBase II Instructions
You must first install PartBase PRO prior to updating from PartBase II. Installing PartBase PRO will in no way affect your current installation for PartBase II. Both programs are separate applications which runs in separate folder locations and does not share any files. Both programs run independently from each other.
Update from PartBase PRO from PartBase II
It is recommended that you run the Upgrade program on a fresh installation of PartBase PRO. This will eliminate any possibility of duplication of data.
Make sure that the computer that is going to run the upgrade has access to the PartBase II files. If you wish, you may make a backup copy of the PartBase II folder and its files into same computer. Having both PartBase files on the same computer will speed up the import process.
From the Start menu, go to PartBase PRO and select Update PartBase II to PartBase PRO. Or locate the PBasePRO folder on the server and double-click on UpdatePB.exe. The following screen will appear:

Type in or "Select" the folder which contains the PartBase II data files.
Select all the files you wish to import into PartBase PRO. The time to run this update process depends on the size of the data files to import. If you have a small Offers database or do not import the Offers, this process could be several minutes. Importing offers could take over an hour.
To begin updating, click on "Start Update Process". It will then ask to "Begin Update Process?". Click "Yes" to start updating.
While updating, the Status column will be display the current activity for each file. Once each file is finished, it will tell you how many records were imported. If a file is missing or not applicable, it will say "PartBase II file not found". If a file is not checked, it will say "Skipped"

Once all the files are finished, you will get a dialog box saying "Update process complete" Click "Ok" and click "Close" to close window. You may now go back to PartBase PRO and you will see the data that you updated from PartBase II.
If you already imported all the files, you should not run this Update Program again. When you run it, it will first warn you that it as already been run. You must be careful and do not select the files that you have already imported. This will cause duplication of data.
