Map database fields

This screen is where you match the Import Fields to the PartBase Field.

The first column contains the Import Field Names from the import file. If you are importing a DBF file, this would contain the field names, otherwise it would just say Field1, Field2, .. etc.

The second column displays the Import Field Sample Values. This shows data from the import file for each field. You may view other sample records by clicking on the "<" or the ">" buttons.

The third column titled "Map to PartBase Field" is where you choose the PartBase field you want to import into. You select the field from a drop down list. When importing parts, you must at least import quantity and part number. If you do not want to import a particular field, then lave the "Map to PartBase Field"  blank.

A special field called "Mfg/DC (combine)" can be used when importing a field that has the mfg. and date code in the same field. It will automatically split it up into the proper fields (mfg and date code) when importing.

When importing a DBF file, the PartBase Field mappings will automatically guess which PartBase field to import into. It will look at the field names and choose the PartBase field that it would most likely match to. ALWAYS verify the field choices before importing.
