Windows 95/98 installation
PartBase II
1. With Disk 1 in drive, click on
"Start" menu button, then "Run". Enter A:\setup
2. Enter the location where PartBase is to be installed. It defaults to
"C:\partbase" click on
"Continue"
3. It will then ask for Disk 2. When finished it will say "PartBase II installation is complete".
Click on "OK"
4. Click on PartBase II Icon.
5. Read license Agreement
6. You will then see "Some of PartBase Database Files needs to be updated."
Click on "Continue"
7. If it asks for a VXBase License #, enter 205A3411
8. Select "User01"
9. Enter Company Name, and other info, then click on "Save and
Exit" and Save changes in setup?
10. In "Main Menu", after selecting a menu option, you will see
"Choose Permanent or Extended Demo"
11. You will need to contact PartBase tech support to enter License #
Convert - Universal importer program
1. Go to A:> prompt
2. Type "INSTALL C:".
This will copy the convert program to C:\Partbase
3. Type "UPGRADE"
to run upgrade program
4. Type "UPGRADE"
and "Y" to continue
If you see
"OFFERS files already exist" then the offers files doesn't need
to be updated
5. Type "CONVERT"
to run program and enter Lic#
6. You will need to contact PartBase
tech support to enter License #
Workstation install
This should be done by the network administrator.
Install PartBase II to c:\partbase. This will install the necessary
Windows files.
Map a drive letter to the shared drive or server where the Partbase data
is located.
Create a shortcut to the Partbase.exe on the mapped drive. In the shortcut
properties, make sure the "Start In" parameter is the location
of PartBase.exe
When you first run PartBase it may ask for VXBase
License #. If it does, enter 205A3411
