PartBase II/x 4.2 Installation

Windows 95/98 installation

PartBase IIx and Convert

1. With Disk 1 in drive, click on "Start" menu button, then "Run". Enter A:\setup

2. The installation program will startup. A welcome message will be be displayed. Click "Next"

3. The Software License Agreement window will appear. Click "Yes" to agree.

4. It will then ask where you want to install PartBase. It defaults to "C:\partbase". Click on "Next"

5. It will then ask which program folder to install the icons. It defaults to "PartBase". Click on "Next" to continue. 

6. A message box will pop up saying "Setup needs the next disk" Insert Disk 2 and click on "Ok"

7. When it is done. Click "Finish"

8. The Program Files\PartBase window will open. With the PartBase icons displayed.

9. Click on "PartBase IIx" icon

10. Read license Agreement

11. You will then see "Some of PartBase Database Files needs to be updated." Click on "Continue"

12. If it asks for a VXBase License #, enter 205A3411

13. Select "User01"

14. Enter Company Name, and other info, then click on "Save and Exit" and Save changes in setup? 

15. In "Main Menu", after selecting a menu option, you will see "Choose Permanent or Extended Demo"

16. You will need to contact PartBase tech support to enter License #

Convert - Universal importer program

1. Click on "PartBase IIx - CONVERT" icon.

2. It will then ask for a license #

3. You will need to contact PartBase tech support to enter License #

Workstation install
This should be done by the network administrator. 
Install PartBase II/x to c:\partbase. This will install the necessary Windows files.
Map a drive letter to the shared drive or server where the Partbase data is located.
Create a shortcut to the Partbase.exe on the mapped drive. In the shortcut properties, make sure the "Start In" parameter is the location of PartBase.exe
When you first run PartBase it may ask for
VXBase License #. If it does, enter 205A3411
